BBC America has released its first teaser image of the returning season of Doctor Who, set to premiere March 30.
The series has been on a mid-season break since last September, and will return with a Steven Moffat-penned episode called The Bells of St John, which will reunite Matt Smith's Doctor with recent companion Clara Oswin Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) in a battle against a new nemesis, the 'Spoonheads.' According to the BBC, The episode is set against the backdrop of "new and old iconic London landmarks," including the Shard and Westminster Bridge.
Considering 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the Doctor's adventures, executive producer Moffat seems particularity fired up about returning. “We’re up in the sky and under the sea!" he enthused in a BBC press release. "We’re running round the rings of an alien world and then a haunted house. There’s new Cybermen, new Ice Warriors and a never before attempted journey to the centre of the TARDIS. And in the finale, the Doctor’s greatest secret will at last be revealed! If this wasn’t already our most exciting year it would be anyway!”
