Janet Montgomery, star of the shortlived CBS series Made in Jersey, has just been tapped for another drama pilot, ABC's Gothica.
Deadline reports that Montgomery -- who was also seen on the second season of Human Target -- will play Grace Van Helsing in the show's present-day take on the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. The character is described as "a Pulitzer prize winning journalist from New York who takes over her family’s hometown newspaper."

In the pilot, Dorian Gray (Chris Egan) provides Grace with the millions she needs to retain control of the paper. Additionally, she was romantically involved with Victor Frankenstein (Tom Ellis) years earlier.
Meanwhile, Showtime is setting up its own monster mash-up show, Penny Dreadful, which is a 19th century period piece from Skyfall duo writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes.
