Emma Watson Stepping into Cinderella?

Hey, if the glass slipper fits. Harry Potter's Emma Watson is now currently in talks for the title role in Disney's live-action Cinderella.

Variety reports that nothing is official just yet, but that early discussions are happening at the studio. Prior to Watson, the Mouse House also considered Gabriella Wilde, Saoirse Ronan and Alicia Vikander for the female lead, but ultimately couldn't land a deal with any of them due to scheduling conflicts. But it sounds like their loss could potentially be Disney's gain with Watson.

Thor's Kenneth Branagh -- who also happened to be Watson's co-star in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets -- will direct the feature, with Simon Kinberg producing. The studio is currently eyeing a fall production start and a 2014 release.
